No Joke - there is a refuge for tigers, pumas and other large cats right down the street from our house. YOu can't see the animals from the road, but you can smell them. So once a month the owner of this operations opens the gates, puts the cats in different cages and you can watch and take photos - all for free!
There are volunteers to tell you about the cats but speak all in German - bummer!
They try to keep the animals active while you are there. A couple times they put two of them together and gave them some long cardboard tubing to play with. Others kept themselves busy watching us - of little girls that looked like a yummy snack.DSC00753.jpg
I think they get tired of being watched pretty quickly. Either that or they don't like being photographed because the one in the photo below turned around and tried to spray me with pee!
