Little Rock Half Marathon

4-5 March 2017

rain 52 °F

After a ten day training exercise to prepare for our upcoming deployment I finally had a weekend off. I had the Little Rock Marathon on my list because they are famous for their large medals so we decided to make it happen.

Saturday we drove the 5.5 hours, hit the expo and mediocre pasta at Ciao right across from our La Quinta. We did get to have that mediocre pasta with a fellow runner we met in Antarctica so that was really neat. Eileen has done over 175 half marathons so it was a treat to talk with her over dinner.

Our La Quinta was perfectly placed only a few blocks from the start and finish so I didn't have to walk far in the rain to the start line. The entire two hours I was running it rained but the route was otherwise nothing to write about.
The medal was pretty with a candy theme this year. I didn't get a dinner plate size medal for the half though :(
